We stayed 3 weeks in this beautiful B&B. It feels like being home with family, the owners and the staff are very kind and helpful. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is delicious and you can even use the kitchen. We rented twice equipment (tend, sleeping bag, kitchen gear) and it was in a good condition. Additionally we got many hiking tips and recommendations. The B&B is located a bit outside of the city center, however with a colectivo you reach the center within 10 minutes and it costs only 0,80 S/. We definitively highly recommend this place!!:)

La casa de Maruja is a bit far from the city centre, but there?s plenty of positive aspects to make up for it. The place itself is welcoming, as is the family of Gilf and Maruja, who are always ready to help you in all possible ways. They helped us organize our mountaineering, trekking and rock climbing trips, giving us up-to-date information, booking transports and renting us for a fair price some of the equipment we needed (stoves and gas, a tent, snow stakes, 60m ropes). We spent about half of our nights in the B&B (10 out of 20), and changed our plans frequently, but when we came back our room was always clean and ready for us, and we could always leave our extra luggage in the basement. The breakfast is good and abundant. You can wash and hang your clothes on the roof, and there?s also an enclosed, cosy bar and boulder area on the roof, where you can cook your own food or buy a beer. We paid for everything at the end of the holiday, with credit card (both Visa and MC are ok, but there?s a 3% fee).

This hostel is a little bit out of town but well worth the hike. Really friendly owners that will help arrange hikes for you. Awesome breakfast. Comfy beds. Working wifi. Working hot water

Pleasant stay. Owners readily help out with info for tours to the surrounding lagunas and peaks. They also allow you to store your excess bags here when going on one of the many multi day treks in the area.
