The worst experience: i rented a car through "Despegar" and paid in advance. When i arrived to Lima airport on Apr 18 they told me that they cancelled my reservation and no options for other car (the two ladies were so relax and happy to see me in stress mood). Also, they told me that i need to contact "Despegar" to get my money back..whatttt..It took almost 2 weeks to get my refund. Despegar really took their time to "verified" that I was right!!! not kidding

horrific. Desk had apparently moved from location directly next to airport after having made a reservation. Was not notified, nor is it indicated anywhere in the car rental counter. unable to assist swiftly by phone upon checking (What are reservation #s for again). When arriving at the Hertz/thrifty counter the rep starts to use her calculator without any explanation. I ask what for. To calculate the additional airport fee. I explain I booked when they were not at the airport yet, nor was i notified of any additional airport fee. Then the real fun starts. The insurance taken out via Hotwire is stated not to be recognized. Choice offered. insurance policy 3x daily rental of the car or a 8,000 USD hold on my credit card. meanwhile my family incl baby is waiting. Hertz/Thrifty, cut this franchise loose. They are operating a shakedown and are destroying your brand. I was not offered any apologies whatsoever, rather the rep seemed very comfortable with her routine. No doubt all of this is standard fare for her.

This place doesn?t exist. It?s the hertz location. If you are on vacation don?t use this place or a foreigner. I had to contact the police. The manager who is a lady lies there and they do not have any reservation when you get there. It?s a scam beware foreigners. It is also public news now that since I have contacted the central office of Thrifty in Lima Peru they have been over booking car rentals because there system is messed up since December 22, 2018. They are clearly scamming people out of money. they also refuse to let me sign there book to get my refund for 22 dollars. Sounds like a 3500 soles fine. Thats what you get for being a scam artist.
